Sitka Has His Forever Family!
Sitka is here with his new family, Fred and Sue Stoll. He had been deserted along the road and thankfully was
picked up and brought to a local vet. Sitka tested heartworm positive but this vet has agreed to provide the
treatment for him for free. Sue and Fred had recently lost their female Husky and when we contacted them about
Sitka, it was clear they were hoping to get another female but agreed to meet Sitka. Well, it was love at first sight
for all three of them and Sitka now has a wonderful home and they absolutely adore him. THANKS Sue & Fred!
Tiko has Found his Forever Home!
Crystal, the owner of The Place For Pets, rescued Tiko from a local
shelter. He was surrendered because he had a terrible ear infection in
both ears and his previous owner could not clear up the infection so she turned him
into the shelter. Because of the severity of the infection, his future was uncertain at
best. Thankfully, Crystal stepped in.
Roger had been looking for a Husky and coincidentally, one day after
Roger's birthday, he took Tiko home to his forever home. What a great birthday
present for both of them!! Below is a note from Roger:
"Thank you for your advice on where to go to find a new dog. I know there are tons
of unwanted and abused animals at shelters. Instead of breeding, I chose to take on
a special needs Husky and I think that I am doing the right thing. His name might be
Tiko. I am so happy to have him, he is so happy, smile on his face, and mine too."
And that's why we do what we do at Sophie's Circle!
Tasha Gets a Great Forever Home!!
This wonderful 7 month old Huskywas found tied to a fence post at
Southeast Volusia Humane Society. Kathy went and picked the puppy
up from the humane society and fostered her until she was adopted
by Penny, who owns Penny's Purdy Pets, mobile grooming.
Tasha has a great new forevery home!
Lotus Wins the Lottery!
Lotus is a 9 year old Husky that was rescued from an owner who was too embarrassed to take her to the vet to get treatment for the
severe case of mange she was suffering from. Lotus was left outside with barely any hair on her body. You can see in her eyes from
her before picture how miserable she was. Her previous owner was going to euthanize her rather than get her treatment. Kathy took
Lotus to Dr. L'Amie who diagnosed her with mange. Crystal at the Place for Pets took care of Lotus at her boarding facility where
Lotus received daily baths and medication for her mange. A week later Lotus has found a new forever home with Susan Yarborough
who loves her very much.
Here is a picture of Breeze who was adopted by
Dr. Kate Canfield
